I am a bit depressed :depressed: with what's happening to our country lately. Instead of not doing anything, I made this entry as a wake up call for most of us Filipinos or even those countrymen having the same problem as our country.

Money.. money... money.. :twocents:
Poverty... poverty.. poverty...
Greed... greed... greed...

We always blame the government. But we can't really help it since we don't see enough improvements in almost anything. Taxes are high but do you see our government doing something with money they get from our income. Is the money really for the welfare of the Filipinos or is it for their own welfare? Is the money inside their GREEDY POCKETS?

Ignorance is also the problem. Laziness is another one. I really believe money is not the real problem in our country.Tax payers in our country are enough to pay maybe half or a quarter of our international debt if not for the greedy pockets sewn in the government. Poverty will be alleviated if people are resourceful enough to find jobs here or start a small business like selling rags, flowers or street food. They should be taught to depend on themselves to work for a living. As the saying goes, "Don't give them fish. Teach them how to fish."

Nobody will benefit from blood money. Nobody will benefit long from "election" money. Nobody will benefit forever from "kick backs" or pork barrels or whatever those greedy morons call it. So there, we just don't blame the government but if you closely sometimes we were really the problem.

The Philippines is not all that bad. If that's what you think I mean in this entry. There are places here that is really great. Graft and corruption is not fully eradicated but you can see results with the tax that you pay in local goverment like our city, MAKATI. I do not have any problem with our city. Our mayor is really proactive in terms of developing Makati. He is also concern with the citizens safety that most of the streets in Makati are well lit and policemen are making their regular rounds to maintain peace and prevent crimes. Yes, crimes are still present here but it is minimal compared to other cities. Ayala, for one, has been developed and can be compared to the city that never sleep in States. People can use the underpass instead of jaywalking on busy streets in Makati. Public school students have free stuffs. They have books, notebooks, bags, pens, and some even have uniforms for free. Senior citizens have really cool benefits. They can watch movies for free in Ayala malls like Glorietta and Greenbelt. They have discounts on participating fast food restaurants and hotels. They have discounts in hospitalization or health needs. They also receive bonuses aside from their insurance. Our Mayor may not be that innocent from graft and corruption. But you see results from his governance. Results that are very important to the tax payers of Makati. Kudos to you Binay :salute:

Having said all that, it's time to ask ourselves...

IS MONEY THE REAL PROBLEM OR IS IT YOU? :faq:
